Power add from 110 oct?

I was bored yesterday, so I pumped 110 octane unleaded gas into my bone stock IX (theres a station that just sells it there, into the car). I feel a perceptible increase in power, but it's not much. How much power do you think I added? Whatever it is, it's not quite worth the money, i'll wait till it's tuned to run that all the time.
Sorry if this is a repost - you must agree, this is a hard concept to search for...

If you didnt turn your boost up the power increase is in your head man People use race gas and can turn up the boost with detination. Thats where the power comes from not just the gas

I'm no xpert but i think just pumping 110 and not doing anything else to da car isn't gonna give u any power gains. 110 should allow you to run more boost without detonation hence u would need a boost controller n turn up da boost, then u'll defenetly see more power.

Yeah the car is otherwise stock. It probably just felt like it ran a little smoother. And the potential difference in power I'm looking for is like 5whp max, haha.

Actually dumping in race gas to a car thats not tuned for it, let alone stock can actually HURT power. You have a lot to learn homie

Like stated prior, if boost wasn't increased ...you wasted your money. Next time you do it, up the boost to about 22/23 psi...Better still, just paypal me the money you feel like wasting, I'll put it to good use.

As I understand it, higher octane than specified in the owners manual in virtually any stock car is a waste of money.

Octane doesn't provide more power, it just guards against premature detonation.

People also used to argue that lead was added to gas as a lubricant for engine internals which is incorrect. It was added to gas to raise the octane rating.

Now if you had an aggressive tune and or cams or otherwise or planned a day of tracking in the dead of summer then there can be a different story. But putting 110 octane into your otherwise stock car is a waste of money especially for DD imo.

what you did was completely pointless.i would bet money that if u put it on the dyno it would have less power with the 110 than with pump. u MUST be tuned for it to see any gains. i dont understand how people think that u just pour something into the tank and automatically you have another 40whp.all you did was waste your money. u have a lot of learning to do man.jeez

Does it matter if you pump 110 leaded into a half tank of 93 unleaded?

As long as its unleaded its not going to hurt anything. If you have access to that gas all the time then do a turbo back exhaust, fuel pump, intake,MBC and have it tuned for that octane and you will be able to crank your boost up and make some serious power. Those are just the basic bolt on parts. You can do cams, head studs, etc., etc. And MR Chef, lead is a lubricant.Just make sure you never use it in cat. converter euipped cars.

Watching Americam Muscle Car on Speed the other day. They had Gale Banks on, who is a turbo/supercharger expert. He said for every +1 lb. of boost, increases horsepower 7%(if EGTs are the same). Thats why I like to run higher octane.

Haha everyone is unleashing a **** storm on me, I was just bored, I put a quarter tank of it into my car just to see how it was. Theres no way it lost power, maybe it's just the condition of the weather or something, and then again you can never discount the placebo effect . I have no boost controller, I'll be putting my mods on soon so then I'll be fine.
