Fiberglass question

Hey does anyone know what i would use to make a mold if i was trying to make my own hood?

From what I've read you can try spray foam or modeling clay. I would think modeling clay would be the best route but don't know about cost.

to make the mold, you would use fiberglass, resin, gelcoat, and more fiberglass, not in that order. if you mean to make the prototype/plug for the mold, and you're wondering what kind of materials you could use to shape your plug, that insulation in a can works wonders to get the initial shape, then glass it then bondo to get the surface smooth. then paint and wet sand, buff, to what I believe is called a class "A" surface. go to www.racingcomposites.net and have a look around, a LOT of good info there for making composite parts
