quick turbo question

hey all, just picked up 03 evo yesterday, traded in my lancer ...quick question is, with the cooling down process after driving, how long do you let it idle, and do you only have to do this if you boosted like less than 5 min before arriving somewhere?........

Everybody's got a different opinion on this one (a quick search will show you all the answers). I say just lay off the boost for a good little while. And if you just boosted, 1-2 minues. A turbo timer is fun, functional, and whether or not it actually helps, it has the cool factor IMHO.

Just don't drive the car hard and you won't need to worry about cooling it down!

Just kidding... - I don't have a turbo timer but I tend to not run mine hard before pulling into the garage. At the track, I'll let it cool down for a few minutes before shutting down. Better to be safe then sorry I guess.

Congrats on the new purchase! Have fun but be safe

Usually, I just don't boost it much a few minutes before I get where I'm going and if I do, I'll just let it idle for a minute or two. Of course I'm not doing full pulls either, I may hit full boost in 2nd/3rd but shift by 4k rpms, so it's not like I'm going WOT/Full boost for more than a couple seconds
