OK, so i just installed my type 1 today and am very happy with the performance and everything. I know the handrake wire makes it pratically impossible to steal but regardless this is my question.

Has anyone had any problems with people attempting to break into theirs car4s due to the fact that they walk away from it running???

I'm only nervous because I'm a teacher in a very ghetto area of NY and I dont want any unwanted hands on my car. I know I cant protect it from everything im just curious to see how everyone feels

 

uhm if the handbrake is depressed it will shut off..what the worries?

 

he's just worried that somebody will try to break in and steal the evo.I hope this won't happen but probably all your your gonna have is a smashed drivers side window.

or just take the bus going to school if it's that ghetto and it worries you a lot.I would.

 

lol... maybe i should take the bus... Your right I'm not worried about it being stolen. I just dont want someone "attemting to steal it to destroy everything in their path. I was just curious if anyones has had someone attempt to break in but guess not, thanks guys

 

Even if someone does attempt to steal your evo and knows that not to completely lower the E-Brake, your steering wheel is still locked. They could probably drive it in circles or just in a straight line until the time ran out.

Also, the car will auto shut off if someone presses any buttons on it (to extend the time).

I remember when I went to an amusement park in Valdosta with my wife we parked way out in the boondocks and about the time we got to the front gate some fat sloppy guy comes running up to me like, "Hey you left your car running" I was like, yeah I know it will shut off in a minute. The guy looked like he had no understanding of what I meant, or maybe he was having a heart attack. I don't know.
