Stock boost solenoid

This might sound like a weird question, but when you remove the stock boost solenoid do you get a CEL?? If so how do you remove it?

Lave it pugged in and tie it off somewhere You will have the hoses connected to your MBC/EBC but the BCS will still be plugged in to the car.

yes, just leave it plugged in but disconnect the turbo lines if your installing a boost controller.

Then you also need a full stand alone ECU.

Why do u need it removed. How much boost do you want to push? and your stock or no?

let me shine a little light here, I have a 2001 galant that i'm installing an evo8 ecu in. Everything pretty much works ok. I would however get a 2 cel codes. 1 for no fuel presure sensor, and 1 for no boost solenoid. Now i have the resistor value for the fuel presure sensor so that should be ok. The only thing i need now is to know how to get rid of the boost solenoid.

Leave the boost-solonid plugged in, and tie it off witha zip tie where you can not see it. Problem solved?

I currently don't have a boost solenoid and don't want it, so the problem isn't solved yet, and the gain of using an evo8 ecu on a galant is that evo ecu knows the term "boost". Galant/eclipse ecu are capable of reading a maximum of 100% load, while evos go up to 280%. So you cannot tune a turbocharged galant without this ecu.

The ECU wants to see the selinoid period. You can use any 2 pic selinoid and just plug it in.

This is not rocket science but if you want to have a stock ecu function properly then you will need a BCS. You don't have to use it, but it needs to be plugged in.

A resistor will not work as it is a pulse width signal from the ECU.
