well, they are giving me right on what kbb has for average trade in (roughly) which is 20k. it sucks since the market for my truck right now is between 25 and 30k (above blue book because its a specialty/rare vehicle). so they will make up for the low price on the evo when the resell my lightning.

but i get about 12mpg with the type of driving i do.. and i cant drive it in the winter, so going to the evo will be much better.

Have you had your truck appraised by other dealers? I'd at least get a second and third opinion. Take your digi cam with you on Monday and take some pics. Post them here in the forum so that we can give you a good assessment. Also, stay in the market for others. Find out about the reserve price, too.

At full boost on a stock boost gauge that comes with the car you should be around the 1.0 area. I'm usually at about one or two slashes above that.

thanks again guys.. ive actually spoken to a number of dealers.. the most anyone is willing to give is 20.5k, and worst was 19.2.. what a lot of these guys do is give below average trade in and go by the wholesale cost which is what they can get at an auction for it. so im getting about what i expected. in reality when you count the tax credit i get for my trade its worth almost another 2 grand on top of what they are giving me since ill only pay tax on the difference between my trade and the evo. so in reality its like getting 22k for my truck which isnt bad. dealers are getting a lot more than private sales. private sales are usually getting between 23, and 24. if i sold it privately id have to pay full tax on the evo.

im not ruling out viii's either. i have 2 lined up if this doesnt feel right when i test drive it on monday. im going to call the dealer now and get the vin and call mitsu warranty hotline now.
