Sales tax

Just a reminder to anyone out there thinking about buying an EVO outta state. When you get back home you're gonna have to pay your State's sales tax...Plan ahead and work it into your financing. I found this out the hard way today...had to pay my states sales tax even though I bought my MR in Georgia...big hit on the wallet......I should have gotten the salesman to work this into the fianancing....live and learn....

Uncle Sam has to get his. I had my evo shipped from California to Maryland. Just paid taxes in MD because they are cheaper.

There are a bunch of things to keep in mind - for example, if you live in NH (no sales tax) and buy a car in MA (sales tax) and take delivery MA, you pay sales tax - you need to make the dealer deliver it to you across the border into NH to avoid the tax.

when i bought my Lightning the dealer made me aware of it, although common sense told me i would anyway.. but i wasnt aware that since i traded in a car for the Lightning that i had tax credit available. when i got back to ny, i paid full sales tax on the Lightning without knowing about tax credit.. only when i started researching getting an evo did i realize this.. now, i have to try and find all my paperwork from when i bought my Lightning and fill out some forms to try and get some tax credit back worth almost 1g.
