this topic has been cover dont know how many times...
to make thing easy for you. I beat my friend's m3 in acceleration, his car has intake exhaust and ecu reflesh. my car has similar mods with NO CAM. The m3 claimed to have 333hp and my 05 evo has 276 claimed hp. but M3 interior is very nice, and girls will love m3 over evo.

And evo is not boy racer, dont say that here!

YES ,The E-30 M3 and manual E-36 M3 are the last of the dying race, the true M car to own. Save some money and pick up a 95 m3

Boyracer vs Autobahn ?

Rallye car vs Autobahn *

But I think people ask this question just better go with M3 so you won't regret later.

And I don't think you can find a E46 M3 with low mileage for 25k. proof me if I am wrong

I like the M3 because it is built so well with really nice stuff, so what it isn't fast with little money. I like it because it's classy but mean. It's NOT slow, it's on par with stock LS1's... it handles great and is SMOOTH, not so raw and rumbly bumbly. A car that flows with the corners at night time when you don't want the car to be Carrera GT stiff.

There were a few within 300 miles of me on autotrader... private sale for $25,000 and had 30-40,000 miles on them. Others had 50k-120k on them... the price is so NOT consistant.

Former M3 owner here.

They tend to have their share of electrical gremlins.

They are a lot slower than an Evo in a straight line and around a corner.

They are a lot more comfortable and the interiors are 10 times better.

If you care about performance more, get the Evo. If you care more about appearance, get the M3.

Both are great cars to own, M3 has the styling, luxuary, good performance but EXPENSIVE to mod. Evo has good styling no luxuary, great performance and have TONS of mods available which won't break your wallet. I had 2002 M3 where I spent about 18k for modding that included styling, performance and didn't make much more then stock power. But I loved the ride and it was head turner and chick magnet.

Power over Luxury, simple question, but i think you've already made your mind. Don't forget to post some pics in the "Other Cars" forum when you pick it up.

Late model 2003 M3 and up have the LED rear tailights. Just a tip if u decide to go with M3. I'm in love with the Grey Silver or Steele Grey M3's.

I have a Graphite Grey IX and I love it. Would love to have a E46 M3 too but cant have both at once.

I find it humorous that you're asking for advice on a purchase you don't plan to make for a couple of years...

if I were to get an M3, i wouldnt waste my money on an 02 or 03. its too old to be spending 25k on a car. just get a newer evo for that, newer car.

but in your case, since you are doubting yourself between an evo and m, then just get the m
