Blown clutch after 1 drag!

Yup... just for giggles I went to see what my stock VIII would do, and after 1 run it went out. Had 32k on it, but no problems previous to the run.

Any recommendations for a new one. Looking for stock class, stock hp/torque. lower the price the better, but quality and life a plus!

I am looking at Exedy Single Plate Organic Clutch Kit or ACT Heavy Duty SS. Any other recommendation are welcome, please let me know what would be best for non dragging, maybe a spirited drive here and there.

I am looking for it asap and for the best price! Thanks!!!

Well, there was another evo there with experience, and he said to let it out slowly, but I think I held it in too much too long while going off the line... so it just took all the material off the clutch. Live and learn... at a costly price.

Competition Stage 2 clutch with the Competition street lite flywheel, This is a fuggin' awesome combo. It feels just like stock but will hold 450whp I've never had it chatter or anything. I just had an ACT and I hated that damn thing, My leg cramped everytime I got in the car and the ACT made my car NOT fun to drive.

I got the Competition clutch and flywheel from www.VIPGarageonline.com GREAT GUYS!!!

Exedy Hyper Triple Carbon HD should work for ya....J/K! The most common clutch to keep the factory feel is the ACT Street Disc with HD Pressure plate. If your flywheel is fine then at least you save money there. I would recommend a Fidannza Flywheel if your going to replace it....Make sure to get a new throw-out bearing with the new clutch. Jeffrey at www.500whp.com has some pretty good deals and usually ships really fast. Just tell him Steve from Vegas recommended him for a good deal.

You seem to be on a tight budget so I would recommend the ACT HDSS with stock resurfaced flywheel. Only issue is the timing because you would have to remove the FW at a shop and they would have to be OK with you taking it to a machine shop to have turned which takes a few hours to a day. Most shops don't want to tie up their lift for that long.

We have both HDSS & XTSS in stock as well as many resurfaced flywheels we can do a core swap on for cheap so you don't have the downtime of getting your stock unit cut.
