bov and air filter questions

hey guys i have a couple of questions. i did search but so many things came up and most didn't answer my question.
1. if i get a k&n filter do i need to tune my car too?
2. where can i find a stock m r bov?
3. do u think i can find it at mitsubishi?
4. if my air filter is dirty and i have a crappy greddy type r bov (it came with the car) would that hurt my performance and gas mileage?

A drop in filter? If so, then no tune needed. Find a used stock bov, dealer would be too expensive. Dirty filter will hurt performance and so will any vta bov.

if ya can clean the BOV (greddy) thats fine but, yer way better off with the stock or even the MR BOV.

The stocker is a good one, no need to get an aftermarket one unless you plan on upping the boost over 25 lbs. The one you got is o.k. but gotta be carefull if your getting a fluttering sound. Could mean a couple things like a vacuum leak or the spring is wore out, or it's the wrong spring. I don't know this bov very well but I believe they sell different springs for it depending on the boost your running. The fluttering would'nt be good for the turbo.

speed corps is correct, with a k&n drop in you will not need a tune. i personally run the jdm mr bov which is the same as the evo 9 bov. here is a link to lancershop.com http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...&cat=27&page=1
