Stiffest/hardest front motor mount insert?..
Stiffest/hardest front motor mount insert?..
Im currently running the Powerflex front motor mount insert but looking for something stiffer. Any other brand thats stiffer/harder? Inserts only please....
I think the AMS mount is a 90 Durameter. The AGP is very stiff too, however I don't know the durameter rating of it. There is also the AVID mounts, however they come in 60/75/90 so if you wanted the stiff you would need to get the 90.
Buschur also sells a front one but I am not sure of the stiffness....

I think it comes down to the fact that if you go too stiff you are just bound to break something. I mean there has to be a little give somewhere.
You could always just make some pieces out of metal and weld them in, but the welds would eventually just break.... Besides if they were any stiffer they would rattle your teeth right out of your head....

powerflex insert are rated at 80 durometer, this is perfect balance for street and track use. I have 2 powerflex motor mount and 1 tranny mount, and they works great. you should do the same too if you don't have the them yet. b/c by just replacing the front one w/ the hardest it's not gonna do you any good if you dont have the side ones upgraded.

ok since I already have the front Power Flex inserts, would doing the rear be equivalent to swapping out the side mounts? either I get mounts for the rear or just the sides?
I would do the passenger side and the Transmission mount before you do the rear one. First of all getting to the rear mount is about impossible unless you have the tranny out (While doing a clutch). It is something that most likely you will have to have a shop do.
The two side mounts are relatively easy so long as you have access to a press and a stud puller. (The stud puller for the transmission mount so you don't have to lower the tranny by 3-4 inches, much easier).
