Still a newb question:

Is this the BOV I should be getting for my evo 9 ? I wanted to throw on some must have parts and get my first flash from jestr. Many of the BOV parts say evo 8 or don't specify any model like this one -I can't find anything that specifies evo 9

[FMDVRSR - Type RS Valve - Recirculating]
FMDVRSR - Type RS Valve - Recirculating $230.00

Any site referrals and other BOV recommendations are needed and appreciated -please??

I have read your stock BOV is FINE until you do a turbo swap or are pushing major power with your stock turbo....many will say this is NOT a must have part until you do a turbo swap....anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...

I think that ttp-engineering is running a special on the hard to get Forge RS BOV. I bought one from them a while back.... This is the BOV to get for sure.

You could also get the JDM MR, or Forge DV..... The JDM will be good to about 25psi or so and I think the Forge DV is good until like 29psi. The RS is good from 7-34psi.....

Yes it is the RS BOV --

Thanks for the advice of not needing it right now. I think I was leaning toward this because I noticed it was one of the first things the Project Evo went with.

Jestr also recommended it

TTP Engineering was out of stock earlier this week on the Forge RS, but said they would have some more in pretty soon. I ordered the Forge Evo15 instead and got great customer service from Scott. I should hopefully have the BOV tomorrow and will post pics of it and give feebdack on how well it works on an Evo I

FORGE RS valves have the same internals as the FORGE EVO15 valve. The only difference is the micro adjustment top on the RS valve. Both function and hold exactly the same. We were running an EvoGreen on a 2006 IX and could not pass 29psi. Once we installed the ForgeRS, the boost jumped to 38-40psi.

It makes a huge difference and of course this was a TTP meth injected Evo with full zeitronix safeguard system.

We have the Evo15 valves in stock, but are running out.

Initially I wanted the type RS because of the dial on top that allows you to adjust the spring pressure/tension, but after talking to Scott and him telling me that the Evo15 comes with the different springs for different tensions, I decided to go with that one. Didn't really mind waiting on the type RS to become available, but figured the Evo15 would suit me best so I wouldn't have to sit there all day messing with the dial. I rather pop in the right spring for my application and call it a day.

I ordered mine through their online website. Didn't know it could be done here on the forum(LOL). Guess it can be done either way. I just set up an account online and ordered
