How much mileage for new evo??

I am trying to work out a deal on a new 06 evo ix mr se. Through group buy I am suppsoedly getting a few hundred under invoice. Problem is the car I want has 200mi on it. I dont know actual. I bet its more than 200.

Is this way too many miles for a new car? He said that it was from a dealer trade so it was driven down here from a different dealer. Buy an older guy and didnt abuse it. I read that I should be driving it hard to get the rings to seal properly and it happens in the first 20 mi of a car's life. Should I just not bother?

price is around 33k

if in fact it was from another dealer, i know that they do in fact 9/10 times use older guys to transport the cars.. at least most do, so chances are it wasnt abused.

as far as running it hard during break in ABSOLUTELY NOT. not these cars, they need to be broken in just like it says in the manual.. which is taking it easy.. although you can do better than 33k.. where are you located?

Ah good to know. I am in massachusetts. How can I get a better deal. I havent gone in to talk to them yet about the mass group buy yet.

Here is the deal, I am trading in my 2002 m3 they are giving me 24. They were originally telling me that they would sell the evo mr se for 35 and i said no thanks. Found out about the group buy and they want me to come in and talk about the price today. I have been shopping around and 24 is the highest I have been able to get so far.

Subaru says they will offer me around 22 maybe. Maybe I can get more. The sti on group buy price is like ~31's.

so: 31-22 = 9k difference for sti
34(guesstimating group buy price) - 24 = 10k

price gap is about the same for both cars. What to do???

Did some wrong calculations....Evo after adding all the packages on edmunds says 35,195 is invoice. Suppsoedly for this group buy price its a few hundred under invoice. so in the 34's Then add the 500 off for recent college grad.

my advise to you is go to carsdirect.com or check some other dealership that makes you feel good on the price and make a list which one has the lower price, because all mitsubishi dealers are pacing out all 2006 evo 9 because 2008 evo 10 prototype is comming soon this year maybe this october, and when you allready got the cheapest price you want for the evo you want, bring it to the dealer and show it to them and they got nothing to do about it. i got my evo 9 se for 29 brand new. good luck!

Another question....If I can get the window sticker and it says the local dealers name, does that mean they are bs'ing me? Do they have to reprint the window stickers when they receive it?

n_speed i checked out carsdirect.com but u cant search for a "new" 2006 evo. I found a place in RI that has an SE but I dont know if they will honor my mass buying power quote...

I don't care what dealer told you, but 200 + miles on new evo is not acceptable to me. I would never buy any new car with that kind of mileage.
Good luck.

200 seems a little high, I've heard quite a few stories of under 20 miles. My own had 12 miles on it.

Mine had 47 miles on it, but that was after it had been driven over from another dealership across town, and also after my test drive...

200 miles is WAY TOO many miles....that shou;d knock off thousands not hundreds from the price.....don't ruch get what YOU want...take your time, don't regret your decisions. I found my MR off of autotrader.com

Update: These dealers are all full of bs. I went down there cuz they told me they would do the group buy price which is factory invoice + 400 and also give me the 500 off for recent grad. They said the price would be 35,595 lol?? They showed me this bs invoice that showed exactly the edmunds invoice price and they say this is what we paid??? I told them I would do 33,500. They said no and tried to sell me a used mr(not se) or a used se for 33,500. I told them I wasnt paying over 29 for a se they said its impossible to get that price. I told them no deal.

Sucks cuz the only thing is that so far they are giving me the most for my m3. But I know they are making me overpay for this car. Anyone know what else I can do? These guys really want me to believe that they are paying edmunds price on the car (35,195) and they cant do any lower. Who knows maybe they will give me a call later lol. Time to see what subaru can do for me

I think if it has more than 200 mi, it's already considered "used". Tell them go go to h3ll.
