Hello it is al nice to meet you. The reason i started this thread is that i am very intrested in getting a Evo IV. Looking for one starting today! I just wanted to know as much as i can about the evo IV. I heard the MRs have tranny problems. Do you have any prob with the evo, what stuff i have to watch out for. Im planning to get a SE since they are offering one for 30K(hopefully i can talk them down some) I just want to get your expression about the Evo IV. Also how much do you pay monthly and insurance (i dont want to pay too much). Anyways the car i have right now besides a minivan is a 02 VQ sentra SE-R spec v(vq35de engine swap). Its pretty nice and runs about the same as a lightly modded Evo IV. The best time is 12.3s in the 1/4. But its very rough to drive for a DD. Thank you!

hey welcome! btw your roman numerals are off IV is four. IX is nine

the mr tranny problems seem to have occured at fourth gear while racing hard for more than 20-30 minutes contiuously. gears 1,2,3, on the MR are really strong (thick)
don't worry 'bout it, if you want the sixth gear, git it. I did, it kicks ***

no real problems... some rattles

oh and its definetly not the comfy daily driver. enjoy!

opps sorry about that! I test drove the IX and felt much better than my vq sentra (gutted 2556lbs) The car is pretty comfy to what im use to. Im gonna bring the wifey later on to check it out then hopefully will have this bad boy by mid week. Just wondering which accelerates faster the 5pd or 6spd? Does 6 spd have a higher top speed and hows 4th gear in the 5spd gearboxes, thanks!

you shouldn't notice any difference but technically the 5 speed is faster cuz of the gearing and one less gear, all the SE's should have the aluminum roof just like the MR's now.
top speed is unlimited
price sounds good
