Yellow Evo VIII
So I've been looking to buy an evolution and VIIIs seem to be in my price range, I have been looking around and I stumbled upon this '03 on autotrader. Carfax came clean except for that certification sticker recall. The guy wants 21.5 but he said hes flexible with his price b/c he really wants to get rid of the car. The car has 18k miles on it and its completely stock and the owner seems legit (hes getting rid of it b/c he has a 2mo old kid that he needs to take care of). Only drawbacks I am aware of are the tires, still same from the factory, and the front bumper cover which is easily noticeable as soon as you look at the pics. Yellow is not my first choice on color but the thing looks so good and I think its growing on me. I am going out to check out the car tonight and drive it so I will post an update sometime this evening.
Heres a link for the pics:
Theres a few pics of my old car in there too.

So I drove up to check it out and the car looks like it's worth buying, it has a hks intake and a boost gauge but is otherwise stock. The owner is a straight up guy maybe 27 going to law school and can't keep the car, go to school and raise his 2mo daughter. He said he didn't want anyone to get shafted because he has bought cars like these before and he knows what it is like (it is his third turbo car the other two being an mr2 turbo and a supra turbo). That being said, the first thing he did when he came out was tell me everything that was wrong with the car one thing being the front bumper cover, he said his wife hit a curb and the bumper was cracked so he cut off the cracked parts with a dremel. It is also missing a nut on the strut tower brace which he said he lost b/c he changed the bar out for a firmer one to do an autox. The tires and brakepads r the ones from the factory and he just had the front calipers replaced b/c they were peeling (apparently a problem with the '03s) and the back ones look faded like they are going to peel. The only other thing I noticed was that I could see the wires from the ECU hanging below the glove compartment and when I checked the mount holding the ECU was loose which he said may have happened when he took it to the dealer. The only thing I would worry about having replaced is the bumper cover and the missing bolt which he said he would take care of without raising the price. He already dropped it a grand to make up for the tires. Overall though it looks really clean and in great condition, the black leather looks awesome against the yellow paint, minus a few minor details which can be easily taken care of. He told me that he would drive the car down here to Atlanta so I could take it for a spin sometime this weekend because right now the car is uninsured until the insurance gets his check. So after I drive it, assuming everything runs smoothly, I will most likely make him an offer and tell him to have the bumper etc fixed and get it inspected by a mechanic/mitsu.
