1600 miles and my first accident...

I am so pissed. This memorial day weekend, while my car was parked outside of my condo, some moron driving the biggest Suburban ever made backed into my 06 MR with the trailer hitch, doing $1700 dmg to the driver side rear! She took out the taillight, and dented up the quarter panel and scrached up the bumper cover. My body shop guy said that the damage was all cosmetic, but he also said they'd have to weld on a new rear "triangle" onto the car to get everything to line up. What is the likelihood of the shop being able to return the car to its pristine preaccident state? Any special considerations? Isn't the rear quarter aluminum? Broken hearted over here.

that sux man, i had a hit run a couple months ago, im guessin a truck backed into my driver side rear quarter panel, just missing the gas tank and tailight tho....but even after a week in the body shop and a couple times on the frame machine, the bumper bow's out a bit compared to the quarter panel

Ah... the good ol' soccer mom driving that big *** SUV again eh? That'll do it alright, as most of them drive like they are the only driver on the road/parking lot.

Thanks to all... yeah, except that instead of a soccer mom in the SUV, she was a short grandmother of some iteration, hence her front license plate which read, "GRANNY Doin' it MY way!" I guess she did it her way. What an idiot.
