Newbie... with ?'s

Hello, im new here and have a few questions.
I am 15 and dont have a car. I am very interested in the Lancer Evo, but price is an issue. How much do you think I could find a used one with a good amount of miles on in about 9 months?
Thanks for your help in advance, thanks!

good luck finding a used evo. they've only been out for 3 months if that. i suggest you start off with a car that will be easy for you to drive. my father always told me that everyone totals their first car and i dind't believe it til i crashed mine then my brother totaled his. get a used honda or even a DSM if you need speed. just be careful. your young, you have your whole life to worry about how fast/hot your car is. make sure you can control the car you buy. im done. thx for reading

Hey man, welcome to the boards.... I agree with Smoktout, dont get an Evo as your first car.. the Evo is my dream car, but I settled for an OZ as my first, and i dont regret it. I wouldnt even call it settling for the OZ, cause its such a great car.. i was going to get a civic at first (thank god i didnt) but i fell in love with the lancer, got a job, and bought it new... But, no matter what u do, you wont regret it cause it will be your first car, that always makes it seem amazing.. good luck with it, if u have any questions, just ask.

As for a ball park range, price will not be much less than a new one, maybe a couple g's less.. demand will still be fairly high for them, and the only ones that are gonna be sold will likely have been in accidents, at least thats my thought on it

I just turned 15 last month and have been looking into this car stuff and figuring out what I'm gonna eventually get someday.. My parents keep telling me that i'm just gonna want a beater as my first car.. they keep telling me about how the statistics are showing the most people involved in accidents are 16-21 year olds. So i figure i'll get a beater and wreck that one (hopefully not) and then when i save up i'll get an Evo someday..

You'll have a nightmare of a time finding an Evo used, and if you did, I would expect to pay 26 to 28,000 for one, even with insane milage.

Plug, the insurance on a new driver with a car like that would be murder.

I would give up on your quest, but to each his own.

I would say you could find one that has been flogged, abused, almost blown up and barely running for about $10,000.

Even if you do find an evo....insurance is going to kill you...get somthing cheap and unfortunately slow untill your like 24.....Hell i am only 19...and still there is no way i could afford the insurance (and payments) on anything above a 4banger non turbo non everything...when i am 24 on the other hand Norris Designs Evo 8 with 715hp here i come.....cause i can damn near drive anything and have cheaper rates....if i where you look into the 97--00 VW's...their great cars under 10k usually(if you husstle the dealer) with ok speed and decent handeling.

I havent wrecked yet...just be a good driver dont do anything crazy and dont get a car to fast...Het SUV'S are fun for a first car also...off roading is the bomb plus you can fit all your girls....or boys up in there...One of the main reasons i got a OZ is because of the gas...i am in college and poor.... My 1st car was a beater 84 celica...and i beat the hell out of it took care of it but still i useto try and drift it and stuff...any time i feel or felt like doing somthing crazy like drift my celica...i would find a big parking lot that way i am safer. anyways the moral is to drive cool for your first fiew years so you can get useto driving....after that you can relax. Also...you wont find an evo used in a new driver's price and insurance range.

I'm not gonna repeat wut everyone said..
EVO = not suitable for 1st car no matter what your age is..

and one thing, no matter what other car u get, OZ or ES or even a civic..
Manual is the only way to go!
