At last... I finally bought an EVO.
I have wanted this car for 2.5 years now & I finally got one. Its a red '03 with 21,000 miles. It was originally purchased on July 30th, 2005 so it still even has its 3 year, 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty & has its power train warranty until 2010!!!!!!!!!
The car is BONE stock, minus a GReddy Type RS bov, which I will trade + cash for a stock diverter. I plan on keeping it stock until the warranty is up...
Also, im having trouble with the peeling Brembo calipers on all 4. The front two are just flat out down to metal & the spoiler is oxidized to all hell. I went to Mitsubishi today & try to warranty it out & the service manager was just like, "How do I know how the previous owners took care of this?" I said, "If I was the original owner, how would YOU know how I took care of this? You dont watch me everyday... BESIDES, if the transmission goes out, you say you will fix it, right?" He says, "Yeah, we will since that is still under warranty". I said, "Well you dont know how I drive the car so how would you warranty that out?"
Idiots.
So I called corporate. (Even with buying it yesterday.) I told them the situation & how the service guy said that they 'MAYYYYYYYY have replaced it if I was the original owner'... but what does not make sense, is how I know someone who had the SAME problem with his wing, went to this SAME dealership, was a SECOND owner, and somehow ALSO got his wing replaced. What gives? I told them, I just feel like im not being treated very fair. They are going to try and help me out so they say... What do you guys think?
Also, another thing before I forget.. When I first pulled up to this dealership, & asked about this warranty work on the calipers... one of the techs was looking everything over, & then decides to open up the car door & pop the hood? Im guessing he was checking to see if it was modified.
Heres a few pix of the new ride non-the-less. Its sooo hard trying to find one of these un-molested.

Mitsu dealerships can really act like jerks sometimes. I had a problem with the carbon fiber on my wing and the manager there said that it was my fault and i MUST have washed it with something i shouldn't have. So i rounded up two other local evo's with the same problem and needless to say he took care of all three of us. Anyways, congrats on the evo, and it looks really nice. Good luck trying to keep it stock, i said that too, and then the mod bug bit me.
congrats, i'll be the first to tell u that the greddy bov was probably the only thing the guy left on the car when he put it back to stock b 4 trading it in. buying a used evo is like bangin ****** without a rubber, goodluck.

I just drove over 150 miles to get it home, so its a little dirty. Im waiting to hear back from mitsubishi tomorrow to see what they will do for my car before I go to work on it. I was gunna put 2 coats of polish and 2 or 3 of wax on there. I got the car for $21,750.
