My dreams have been shattered.

Just called my insurance agent about how much it would be to insure an 03' Evo in Chicago. I was schocked, he told me a $2400 a year minumum. And this is with all the reductons on there. He told me though that, it was not my fault but that a lot of young people crash these cars, etc. By the way I don't plan on racing and have never gotten a ticket. I was planning on getting it next year. My parents just talked my out of the car by this. But I do have a job. My parents suggested another car though. What do you guys think? +00' and should be stick.

sucks My premium is 7500/year. No car crashes or tickets. Get a railliart if you want a mistu, or a honda for cheaper insurance.

honestly.. try progressive.com and do an online quote and see how much it would be.. if you don't plan on putting yourself on a high danger position.. you might like the cost.

By the way i'm in chicago too and i pay about 95 a month.

Can you kinda tell us what you're looking for? Or things you wouldn't consider? Do you really want AWD? Would RWD be ok? How about FWD? Looking for big power, or are you more handling-oriented? Or would you maybe like something luxurious? Planning to mod it? Some cars have better aftermarket support. Need a sedan, or would a coupe or even a hatchback be ok? Would you consider buying American? How about European?

New jersey sucks for insurance. I have great insurance with no tickets or accidents and I pay 2700 a year. My Lexus is much cheaper than the Evo. You should get a DSM. For as much money as you would spend on an Evo, you could have a really sweet eclipse or eagle talon.

You're only 16, that's a great reason for the high rise in premium.. expect to get another car.. You do know this is the most expensive car to ensure this year and you being 16, is the highest age to be for insurance.. so yea.. you're not getting an evo anytime soon.. If you want to still be fast get a 1G or a 2G with a 6bolt motor in it and mod it like crazy.. it will be just as fast with enough time and it will be drastically cheaper to ensure.

Stick shift. No American Cars. Prefer Japanese but wouldn't mind Euro. Year 2000+
for $20,000 give or take, affordable insurance but can go anything fro there RWD, FWD, AWD, w/e.

I pay $1500 for the year for an Evo IX and 2006 RX-8. But, my wife and I are probably a few years older than you guys and no accidents/tickets/etc. That sucks that insurance can be that damn high for one freakin car!!!

I lived in North Carolina before I moved to Jersey. My insurance went up a thousand a year just for moving here. I went from 500 a year to 1500 a year.

Yeah I feel your pain. 19 here. 1,400 a half. Not sure I'm gonna buy one now after all. Does anyone know if you can pay for storage insurance winters instead of full coverage, when you have your car financed?
