Gas Mileage Please help!

OK, so I've been running my evo in Denver with a TBE and its begining to get tuned...

Before I put on the CB and testpipe my MPG seemed average (no complaints), but it appears that now my MPG is horrible, and the gas guage keeps fluctuating above and below the markers..

Especially if my tune is leaning it out, should a catless TBE have this much affect on my MPG? If so, its not worth the power (which isnt extremely noticeable yet).

Should I try cleaning out my injectors? The car is new and only has 4k miles on it.

The TBE isn't going to give noticeable gains without an MBC anyway. The tune will lean out your open loop operation, but you're not in that mode too often. Your closed loop (idle and part throttle) will always aim for 14.7 AFRs.

don't touch the injectors

look at your air filter first then make sure your clips that hold the intake snorkel are in place

also make sure your tires are inflated to spec per 5300 ft.

I'm going to measure from full to empty as I now realize that half tank is only at 5.5 gallons instead of 7... oops

well, this thread make me feel a lot better about my car. I have a stock EVO IX RS, and I get about 280-300 miles per tank. So I guess it's average.

280-300 is WAYYYYYYYY beyond average. I've never gotten that much in a single tank _ever_ whether stock or modded. I hit 275 once going all the way down to fumes with mostly highway driving. I generally avg around 220-240, which is fine with me.

My car sees mostly city driving with the occasional trip on the 405 freeway (which is still stop and go like city driving).

I can get anywhere between 14mpg and 20mpg depending on my driving mood
