How to make a FQ400

Does any one know of a link or of the top of the head what Mitsu has done to the engine on the FQ400?

how much work would it take to get to 400 HP. As well as how much money are you looking at spendning. Does any one also know how much boost the FQ runs. I have heard that these engines can hold alot of boost and can easly work 20PSI with out and modifications to the bootom end on the motor. I know several people run more boost then that but from what ive heard is that its a little risky to run higher if your thinking about long term reliability.

Does the FQ have upgraded suspension over the US MR?

His question is not how to get 400 hp on his car but what Mitsubishi does to make the FQ400 so powerful on only 20 psi.

They do use a larger turbo I know that for sure. I imagine they also use aggressive ECU tuning, a free-er flowing exhaust, etc..

I know they use a different turbo...I don't know if it's bigger...but the turbine is made out of magnesium for faster spool up and it might have some titanium to it...well I at least know for the JDMs

Faster spool wouldn't make more power it would just make it sooner; it is a larger housing and wheel I believe to flow 20 psi more efficiently.

Here is something I found:

http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z8826/default.aspx

Maybe you can contact the development team in the U.K. and they could give you some more information?

the video with the fq400 vs. the lambo said one of the biggest problems with the fq400 was the turbo lag

I think is the following combo:
INtercooler piping kit (yes is different)
ECU with more agressive tuning
EXHAUST
perhaps a CONE filter...
BIGGER FASTER SPOOLING TURBO

The FQ400 has a lot of HKS parts on the car. I know the exhaust is HKS Super Dragger or something like that. Not sure about the rest of the car. The turbo is something like a 3037.

400bhp is easy....

-tbe, mbc, walbro, intake and tune thats around 330-340whp, around 400bhp

add a smc meth kit for another 475 and ur 365+ whp

-throw some better brake pads on there with some better fluid and ur stopping power is there

-some swift or tanabe springs if you rarely track the car

Again. He's not asking how to make 400whp. Merely how exactly Mitsu in England does.
