Well I'm no economist but it's all about supply and demand. I once thought that the price would drop as the market was sudden flooded with the X (relatively speaking). How delusional I was. The problem will be that everyone is thinking that way. And you know Mitsu is thinking that way too. Who would be trading in for a X? Most likely someone who owns an VIII or a IX? Perhaps... but should Mistu dealers all of a sudden have a car that they know they can sell, the prices will remain high until they cannot sell them anymore. I don't know about you but I don't see them on the lots now. This trend will more than likely continue. Man, I wish I had listened in Dr Greene’s economy class…

I know what you mean! LOL Every-car I thouch I can't keep it stock...whether it be an intake or some shocks I install. But I been in an EVO with an HKS exhaust and ecu, I'm just craving for that type of acceleration.

I think they will hold their value to some extent. first off, kids watch fast and furious movies...and hey...there is the evo. Marketing. And even look at stealths, 3000gts, etc....it varies on condition as well.

Sure, but there is no new Supra in the way that there is a going to be a new Evo. I think a time machine is the only sure way to know.

I think the X's will be quite a bit over MSRP at least at first, evo 9's if on the lot will stay at 3K over msrp as they are now in my area, and used evo's will be overpriced on the lot but a pretty good deal if sold by a private party. The dealer won't lose either way, thinking if you don't like the overpriced X then get this lesser priced 9.

I'd say get the 9 now, find the one you want if you can find it. Not many local ones around my area any longer. Only 2 new ones left at the dealer.

I think evo's will drop in price but it all depends on many factors.
I think a huge factor is how many people are going to sell their current evos for X because the market drivers are current evo owners who are going to sell their car. Also it depends on seller to seller, if one is desperate enough they will drop their price beyond market value.

The entire point of the question was that with a new body style generally comes depreciation for the old body styles. That doesn't answer anything.
