Noob here, few questions

I got an 06 Evo a few weeks ago. I did a lot of research before I purchased. I won't tell you what else I was considering for fear of being laughed at.

Anyway, I love the car but I do have a few questions...
1. Under light throttle, I have noticed minor hesitation before the spool, it almost feels like you just turned on the A/C, you know that little almost-not-noticeable drop? Under moderate and heavy throttle, I haven't noticed it. Any ideas or is this normal and I am paranoid?
2. I came from a roots blown car into this, so as you can imagine the feel is very different. My max boost pressure for my previous car was 8lbs, and my boost gauge would read a constant pressure or constantly increasing pressure through anything but light throttle. Watching the factory boost gauge in the Evo, I see it dance around sometimes under normal driving conditions, not serious just little fluctuations? No change in the feel of the car. What is this and is it normal?

Thanks in advance, and a little personal note, these forums were a huge influence on my purchase.

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually the boost fluctuates under constant throttle. Unfortunately, I don't know much about turbos and I don't want to come off as a complete idiot. I have done some reading on these forums but I can't find anything that is specific to what I am experiencing. Would these be boost spikes? Would they occur at constant speeds or just under heavy throttle?

boost varies with load and not just with throttle position. if you're straight and level at 3k RPM and you start going up a hill the boost will climb as the load increases. Some level of hesitiation is also normal as you roll into the throttle (turbo lag).

Okay that's good to know. I purchased the car used and although it had low miles, you just never know what the person before you has done. Up to this point though, I love it!
