Supposedly a new HKS SSQV BOV

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HKS-B...QQcmdZViewItem

I have done my research around this forum, and I've seen lots of people (if not everyone) having problems with the HKS SSQV BOV. And if I remember correctly, the BOV was a universal one as well. Well now for the one in the link above, it says that it was redesigned and designated for the evolutions. Would this one work without any problems as well? And it doesnt say, but it probably VTA, yes? Just looking for some feedback from you guys, take care!

P.S. Why would the BOV exclude MR's? If you look at the link, it states for specific make/model "03-06 MITSUBISHI EVO VIII IX (EXC. MR)" Is that "EXC. MR" mean excluding MR?

ANY bov that vents to atmosphere is a big NO for the evo.

End of story.

i have not heard anything good about the redesigned hks ssqv but in any case, if you are using the MAF then the BOV should/must be recirced to avoid problems. It is best to stick with the stocker. Too many people have learned that the hard way. However, if you are using something like an standalone EMS then i believe you can run VTA (i.e. hks ssqv bov) without much problems with proper tuning....

bovs are bad for the car. the reason it makes the whoosh noise is because all the pressure being let out of the car. if your car is stock and you got a aftermarket bov it would let out more pressure than needed and your car would be slower. the new hks ssqv is the version 2 and you can find it on lancershop

http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...9&cat=0&page=1

and you would need the Hks ssqv Recirculation Kit so it wouldnt stall like the original hks ssqv which everyone has problems with

and heres the info on bovs

Just keep the stock BOV it performs a lot better and you could use that money elsewhere towards something good!

hahaha
so a vta bov makes you slower? thats the first time i hear this one. unless the bov is leaking or not holding, you will not notice a difference in "speed"

anytime you dont have the released air comming back into the intake, the car runs rich between the shifts because its still adding fuel to that air that its accounting for....unless your tuned for the vta bov

i hear a lot of bad things with the old hks on the evo's, not sure about the new one, but its the same design so i dont think its going to change anything. theres a lot better parts you can buy for your car for 300 bucks
