Hey
I need to see what my options are come the end of the school year... if the Evo X is MSRP around 32k (possible wishful thinking) I'll hopefully get that with a healthy 10-11k downpayment but more cost in insurance (19 year old male), if it's more expensive I'll be looking at used VIII/IX's with low mileage (less costly insurance, but I'd prefer a new car as buying a used car from a private owner is rather difficult to finance
).

).As far as a EVO X or EVO IX, you should test drive them both, expect a mark up on the EVO X for a couple of months after release though, don't be surprised to see EVO Xs going for $40,000 because of these dealer mark ups. You can probably get a nice used IX MR or SE with under 20,000 miles for around $26,000 to $30,000 when the EVO X is released. I can't really speak on the EVO X because the important info hasn't been released yet, but the EVO IX is one awesome car
Yeah, I figured that with a nice big down payment I can pay around 275 a month for the next 5-6 years which isn't bad at all, and I'll probably overpay my monthly payments often.
If the Evo X is 40k, I don't think I can swing that. Around 32-33k is about as much as I can afford.

I should have around 3k in my bank account once I make my down payment... I want to make sure I get a nice down payment but still have a couple grand saved. Hopefully my dad giving me a little like he gave my sister will happen, and hopefully I can sell the current vehicle I'm driving.
I live in Pittsburgh, PA and I've only had one accident (which will be two years ago in a week or two, I have pictures if anyone wants to see them -- I totaled my 01 cavalier 2 months after I got my license). The insurance company "forgave" that accident and our rates didn't go up. I've had no tickets or any other accidents since then and will hopefully be the same come next May.
I'd need to talk to my dad and so forth before purchasing an Evo next year. Insurance I believe would be the only issue as with a fat down payment I plan on putting down, my car payments wouldn't be much, and I'd of course be willing to pay for most if not all of my insurance.
