The wheels are stock rims painted black, I plan on taking them off soon and keeping them for the winter since they have blizzak winter wheels on them. The wing unfortunatly came with the car but I am in the process of a trade with a nother member on the forums for the standard wing. Last night I installed a ttp engineering downpipe on the car and am absolutely amazed by the new performance. Next week I have a set of gsc 280 cams going in with a turbo xs boost controller, walbro pump and tune on the car. I cant wait driving wrxs for so long I never expected this much performance from just a turbo back exhaust I am completely in love, my gf is very jealous
congrats man! however, it's a big difference from a wrx to an STi as well. i still hold that the evo is superior for road racing, however, had you owned an STi instead of a normal rex, you wouldn't have been totally taken aback by the power of the evo. my STi walks my friend's eo IX MR with all the bolt-ons and 20g wheel upgade making 360awhp on a dynojet. my STi only reads 330awhp on a dynojet, but my 20g/fp green hybrid helps a lot on the top end of the rpm range. even so, witht those cams and a good tune, you're gonna be blown away by the power increase.

Well dub killer my wrx had a full built sti motor with cp pistons pauter rods and full jdm head conversion with race port, on a dynojet my wrx made 387 whp on pump and 475 whp on 104 octane but I still think the powerband and performance of the 4g63 motor is still far supperior to the sti motor

We are glad that you are happy with the Evo. An Evo is truly superior than a WRX and it is in a total different league. Good move.

sounds like a decent set-up man, but did you also have all the suspension work done too? it's just not really the same unless you've got the tranny, suspension and motor. but i agree, the 4g63 is an awesome motor and the evo suspension is amazing but it's a much better comparison from sti to evo rather than wrx to evo. what turbo did you have on your rex?

yah I am located in Brighton, Mi just past novi on 96. I have tried going on mievo but everytime the pages wont load or I cant find info about local meets, there is a ton of local suby meets but I cant find any Mi evo meets. Dub Kller my car had a modified garret Gt 30R that was a full custom fab kit with tial 44mm external dump. I did not have the full sti suspension and trans as I almost did but decided for what I wanted for the car wouldnt be the best match. I have two friends with stis with I have driven I like the trans but since I primarily street race I decided to build the trans with a kaaz close ratio gear set which is geared more for the quarter mile. I also wouldn't knock the mcphearson suspension of the sti but I also went more aggressive with coilovers, strut braces, sway bars with links and cusco supports. Although much more expensive the suspension outperformed those of my friend stock sti

It is sad that after severl grand in a wrx only gets you close to stock evo or STI power and handeling. That used evo 8 is a lot of car for the money.

I do agree the wrx wasn't my first choice, In late 02 I wanted one of the first evos I have friends that were running 1st gns but I totalled my daily driver and when I went to the local mitsu dealership they told me the launch of the evo was delayed by almost a year. I decided to get a suby instead of waiting not being to familiar with the car but less than six weeks after I took a loan for almost 30000 fpr the w the evo was released, needless to say I was very pessed off

I have a wrx at the moment and I too am in the process of trying to sell the car to buy an evo, I wanted an evo way before I even thought about buying a wrx then settled and bought the wrx...I really wish I had waited.
