Where did you find this vehicle? It looks like the exact one located at our Carmax here in Indianapolis. Same price. Same mileage. I test drove that twice!

Congrats on the new car. You'll enjoy it.

As far as the tires go, don't worry about it. It's a known practice for Carmax to replace tires of almost all the cars that go thru them. So may be you just get a new set from Carmax.

Interesting, a forum member drove the exact car I'm getting. It was definitely that Carmax vehicle. So how did it drive? Was the clutch ok? Any issues at all?

Since I compete in SCCA autox stock class, there are only a few mods I can do. I need to save up money for R-compound race tires and a set of Enkei RPF1 in 17x8. Maybe some double adjustable Konis and brake pads, that's about it.

One of my good friends is begging me to get at least an ECU flash and turbo back exhaust, just those two should produce decent gains.

The 4G63 is new to me, my previous car had a naturally aspirated 2.5 liter engine, and bolt on mod gains were disappointing to say the least. Very low hp/cost ratio.

your friend is correct, these cars are bottled up and rich from the factory, so the basic mods really wake them up. I've had a few customers that picked up ~ 40ftlbs of torque with some basic mods after a tune.

Just signed the papers, take delivery tomorrow morning. Some idiot forgot to do the state inspection and some BS about how they could be fined I drove without a sticker. They gave me a loaner Jetta 1.8T manual and it's seen redline tonight more than it ever will in years. So 06 IX RS WW with 55xx miles, paid out the door $26,791 which includes tax, tag and fee. I did get to drive it and it's fine, like new.

Congrats on your purchase, looks sweet, looks just like mine, except for the stock exhaust LOL! Everytime I see the EVO in white I think it looks so freakin' sweet, but then I see mine in white and can't wait to change the color. I guess white gets kind of old. Good luck on your purchase.
