Ask your cams/alky questions after you install and tune the mods you have.

I disagree with the prior poster... Put all of your mods on first and then tune. There's no point in installing some mods, tuning, and then adding one more and paying to re-tune.

Also, if you end up getting cams first make sure and do your headstuds at the same time as it will be easy to do them when your doing / having your cams done.

I agree with ya on this one

I'm getting the GSC S1s for sure...But for the meth there seems to be a TON of debate

I want a good kit, but don't wanna spend over $600 on it

I have these cams in stock right now. 2 sets left.

I have had no complaints from the S1 cams ESPECIALLY from a IX customer!

Spending the extra money on the kit will be well worth it in the end if he decides to do it. If you only want to spend $400 on a kit, then definitely don't buy one. Most of the people that have issues are buying the wrong kit without a proper failsafe. Methanol is the option I went with because there is no way I can afford race gas all the time and I love the fact that I can run "race gas level boost" all day all the time. I have plans for a larger turbo though as well so that is why I chose methanol, but I like alcohol in general

If you want to do meth there is no better kit than the one by Aquamist. Followed by Perrin (utilizes Aquamist parts). From there I'd say SMC, Snow, ect are all about the same. The latter is more cost effective, however.

I disagree with you on the head studs. Fact- you should not pull the heads studs unless the head is taken off. If you do than its not done properly.

Also If you don't want to keep getting a tune than get TBE,o2,LICP,FMIC,UICP,MINI bat kit,MBC,ALKY,CAMS,AIR INTAKE,BOV for the alky, walbro,TURBO upgrade, and the proper gauges. Now if you do all this you should be good with just one tune.(maybe) If you don't do this you WILL be adding more stuff and you will be getting more tunes! Its just how it is with our cars.

good luck

On an Evo IX, I saw 20 whp from Alky (same boost) and 18 whp from cams (same boost) on the stock turbo. Go with whatever is cheaper. Your motor would be better off with some denatured alcohol spraying in there to raise the octane, suppress knock, and cool everything down.
