where does your clutch engage?

EVO IX MR, my clutch engages at the very top of it's travel. is this normal for a new EVO? if so will adjusting the rod at the pedal make it engage closer to the floor?

yes, all evo's engages on very top, and if u like to make it lower, just adjust the rod.

I cant stand the high engagement as well. I agree with Mitsu3, if you adjust the rod the clutch may not fully engage and may cause tranny problems...

Any other input in this as far as changing the engagement point?

well you can always push the clutch down to the point where it disengages, then the clutch will seem like it's engaging quick. lol, i always push my clutch half way down and than shift. not all the way.

When I replaced my stock clutch line this went away, and it was engaging much closer to the floor.

I am not sure if this is totally from the replacement of the clutch line (Works), or if removing the restrictor in the slave cylinder is what helped.

Either way, if you don't already have an aftermarket clutch line, this might help you.

If you have not already, you might want to replace your factory clutch line.

When i replaced mine (Works) it really changed how close to the floor the clutch engaged.

It feels like I only move the clutch a few inches now to engage/disengage the clutch, as opposed to what felt like 5-6 inches before.

Its the same for me. Ive had my Evo IX SE for about 2 months now (bought it brand new) and ive realised the clutch engangement point is almost at the very top and i have alot of difficulty trying to do the no gas technique. Its like im so very close to stalling when i try to move without touching the gas pedal so i usually dont try to do it because i dont want to stall. I too was wondering if it needed to be adjusted, but based on what everyone here is saying... its normal

I hope so!
