Exclamation New Owner!!!

Well guys after a year and a half of searching around I finally found an affordable EVO. It looks like I'm going to have to change my SN now
I've only had the car for 2 days and I'm loving it!! The first day I test drove it, it was really hot, upper 90's so I had the A/C cranked up and the salesman led me to the express way and told me "have fun". Well I only got on it once and it felt great, even with the A/C on in nearly stock form (just a K&N drop in) so after a drive I thought about it over the weekend, and went back Tuesday night to pick it up cause it was an offer I really couldn't refuse. Well when the car came up after being washed and waxed.. the porter came up to me and told me under his breath that he is only supposed to put in about 2 gallons of premium, and he filled it up.. so sweet! cause it was on about an 1/8th of a tank when I went to pick it up. So after everything was done, I took delievery of the car, and felt like a kid in a candy store.. just overwhelmed that it was mine!! The day I took it home was around 75 degrees outside nice and cool so no A/C.. and for some reason everyone in one of the one of the lanes was going like 5-10mph in a 45.. So I'm in first gear (this is my very first manual tranny car) I turn my blinker on and merge into the open lane... now my other car is an automatic Ford Probe GT.. with a rated HUGE 164 CRANK!! HP from the factory.. so I'm so used to just romping on it to get up to speed, I did the same thing to the EVO and good god!! as soon as it hit near 3k rpm this thing took off like nothing I've ever felt, a huge evil grin came across my face and shifted into 2nd at 7k, and thought better off it and pushed in the clutch and just put it over to 4th... right after than I came to a stop light and just sat there.. I took my hands off the steering wheel to see they were shaking!! And I thought to myself.. god I love this car! So I tried to compose myself so I could drive the rest of the 10 mins home with my entire body now shaking flowing with Addrenaline (sp?)
Now 2 days later I don't shake any more but every time the boost hits, even just cruising a big smile comes to my face.. But when you upgrade yourself 10 yrs. in technology and probably pretty close to 100WHP.. I'm sure most of you guys would get giddy too.
And did I say already that I LOVE THIS CAR!! Hopefully I'll meet up with some of you guys at the AMS swap meet to see what everyone else is running, and get some pointers from some of the best.

Nate

Congrats!!

I know what you mean by the shaking thing. I got the same feeling when I drove my M3. It hit 100 so fast, I couldn't belive it. I just recently picked up an Evo 9, but the power didnt seems so overwhelming since I am so used to the M3. The boost still brings a smile to my face though.

Im hoping the Stage 1 mods im getting done soon will bring that feeling back. I should have easily have around 400 horsepower next week.

i think everyone had a story that was similar. i had a break in period with my brand new evo IX with 3 miles on it. that didnt stop me from cranking on her though just once, and yes the smile and shaking was going on........

congrats and speed safely

lol I had the same exact feeling when I picked up my 05 a couple months ago, pulled outta the dealership and just cruised down the freeway in 6th doin 65 grinnin hard! I still get that way every time i boost it or just go cruising. Its a all around great car so how could you not get "giddy" lol
