where to buy HKS Iridium Plugs for EVO9
where to buy HKS Iridium Plugs for EVO9
as the title says... can anyone advise me where i can purchase a set of HKS iridium plugs one heat range colder for an EVO 9? I found sites in the UK, but they dont sell to US residents. Plug choice for the 9 is limited... the Denso option IKH24 that everyone recommends is actually a few mm longer than the stocker which concerns me (according to sparkplug.com specs) Apparently the correct size is 14mm thread, 3/4" depth(19mm or so), 5/8 hex. The ikh24 shows a 26.5mm depth?
And i do not want to go w/ the autolite, splitfire plugs that show as the only option for evo 9... and i can't locate a colder factory ngk plug..
I heard HKS makes a part specific plug w/ colder heat ranges and cheaper than the NGKs... so if you know.. pls advise.. THANKS!

im running the ikh24 with no issues, they work great...
if you do a search for ix spark plugs, you will see a list of ngk plugs and different heat ranges, but they are expensive, i think 25 a plug or close to that. the denso's work just fine

patience would have been good, i replied 3 minutes after you posted lol.... its ok, im sure you will be fine with the HKS, just a waste of money IMO
HKS s40il iridiums are running great! really smoothened it out. I guess any colder plug would do that.. but its the only set that i could find that were evo9 specific, besides the NGKs which were around 140! the 80 bucks i spent wasnt too bad.
if u dont mind spending the cash... they are great plugs!

agree w the above... the colder HKS plugs help w preignition if u are running an agressive tune. meaning its not ur a/f or timing that is causing the knock. im knock free anyways, but it does run noticeably smoother. especially when I crank it up to 24psi...on occassion

Any online links?
Thanks
i ordered them from EDOperformance.com
I never heard of them until i did my search for these spark plugs. They had them and i got them shipped in 2 weeks. (not bad considering they get them from HKS first) The part no is s40il (HKS Super Fire Iridium) they are part specific for the EVO 9 and 1 heat range colder. I forgot exactly what i paid for them w/ shipping...but it was no more than 80bucks for all 4. Expensive... but the NGK iridiums (1 colder) are over 100bucks.
