Buschur Specific

My father and I are ready to mod.. And I'm leaning towards being Buschur specific rather than AMS specific and mixing and matching parts. AMS has good parts too, but I see Buschur with cheaper prices, and I like the looks of the Buschur parts better than the AMS. (Minus the TBE, but I'm getting used to the Buschur one) I just had a few questions..

- How is the longevity of the Buschur parts? I'm not planning to race much or what not, just maybe a few times.
- I heard the Buschur TBE is the lightest weight and yields the most HP, is this true?
- How is the loudness of the Buschur TBE w/bullet muffler? Compared to idle at certain RPM ranges, because I've heard the bullet muffler at WOT and its loud.. But I like it. =]
- Am I making the right decision to go Buschur specific?

Any suggestions too will be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Buschur and AMS are both at the top of the line. Buschur does have lower prices than AMS and will gain pretty much the same amount of power. Can't go wrong with either one. So yes ur decision to go with buschur is a relly good 1. wut are ur plans for the car? wut kinda #'s u wanna see?

Either brand is good. A lot of ppl like to mix and match parts and that always turns out well depending on the part you get. What are you trying to achieve?

I have the Buschur Tbe with test pipe and bullet muffler and I Love it. Either one is a good way to go.

Hmmm, what numbers would I be looking at with those mods? Because I'm looking to just buy those parts, have Buschur ship them to me, then go to Speed Element and have them installed and get a tune.

Would I need any other parts to make my Evo run efficient and safely?

Would I make more power if I mixed and matched brand parts, not just Buschur Specific?

you need to use the search feature to answer some of your questions

power output is quoted right on buschur's site...just stay with their packages

that also eliminates worrying about needing other parts

buschur does have the lightest exhaust

depends what you mix and match as far as power output

I think BR parts are quality pieces and are as good or possibly better than ABC company's parts. In some cases they may even make the best part. But to say that you need to have 100% BR parts on your car to "eliminate worrying" is not a very factual statement. I dont think you'll be dissapointed if you went with the BR staged upgrades but there are other ways to achive power also.

There are lots of other companies that make quality parts for our cars. There are also parts that cost less and outperform more expensive parts.

example: ebay o2 housing

im a firm believer of what you pay is what you get. so if you pay a cheap price for something and it doesent perform well, dont get mad, just deal with the fact that you went the cheap route.

Modifying an evo isnt no cheap project so be prepared and spend the darn money on your evo, she deserves it......

If I was shopping exhausts or any other parts for that matter I would figure out what's most important to me and find one that meets all of my criteria. The first 3 criteria are based on facts which can be researched, the last 3 are personal preference. For me it's in this order.

Fit, Performance, Quality, Sound, Appearance, Price, Brand

Also, for the record.. I dont have any ebay parts on my car but if there was something I thought was a good value and It met my criteria I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Also, I wanted to add.. I found this out the hard way. I've jumped on the bandwagon before and have been dissapointed.

So what exact parts are you talking about getting? Just a Turbo back? which will increase your WHP a bit with a tune, but! We need to know what your looking at to give you the good feedback that your looking for.
Typically what most 8 & 9 owners do for their first mods. are a TBE, Intake, MBC (manual boost controller) and a 255 fuel pump, along with a good flash. Just with these basic mods. on your 9 your looking at 310+ to the wheels on pump (93) it'll probably be more, but I don't want to say a # and you get a junk tune and it's less.. but I do see you get the 91' octane p*ss gas so with that I'd expect around the same, maybe a few less ponies but still in the 300 club.

Well I was looking into these Mix n Match parts:

- Apexi Power Intake with Induction Box or ARC Induction Box
- Perrin Evo Downpipe
- WORKS Exhale StealthWORKS Performance Cat
- Greddy TI Cat-back
- Manual Boost Controller
- Custom Tune

Trying to get somewhere in the 350 WHP.. Then I was looking to the same parts but Buschur Specific. Would I get more power from these mix n match parts, or from Buschur Specific?

- I heard great reviews from the Buschur Racing Inline MBC, would that be my best bet for an MBC?
- What does the fuel pump do? I hear about it, but dont really know about its function.
- I believe that the Buschur specific parts are cheaper as well, but my dad really likes the Greddy TI Cat-back. If he wants to get it, why not right?

Any suggestions or comments, please help. Thanks!

Well for one, if you don't know what a fuel pump does, you may need to do some research about these cars before you start modifying them. Not to sound rude or anything but, if you don't know that simple thing you should be driving something that isn't F/I..
But then again being the nice guy I am.. the reason you need a fuel pump is because the stock one will basically max itself out once the boost is raised and more fuel is needed because of the tune. A fuel pump is exactly what it says.. a FUEL PUMP!! it basically pumps gas from the fuel cell to the injectors.. in a very small nut shell.. So since the stocker won't do anymore.. what do you do! UPGRADE!! Get a Walbro 255 fuel pump and be done with it.
Also if your dad is the one paying for all this, all I can say is that 1. your lucky.. and 2. don't bite the hand that feeds you.. meaning go with what he wants.

And PLEASE!!! take it easy on the car once all this gets done. The stock clutch is just enough to hold the stock HP.. once you get a tune, take it easy with the car learn it's new abilities but don't abuse it.. cause if you do, it'll abuse you right back.. at least your wallet that is, or your dads. So the other thing you may want to look into is a upgraded clutch.. not right away, but with the added power.. your going to need it a couple thousand miles down the road.

You probably wont get 350whp with those mods alone. You'll need what you listed along with cams or a combination of other parts to hit 350whp even with 93 octane and a good tune.
