Just as long as you get an evo... it's really all the same. I personally like the IX with the power options though. Just my opinion.

 

if you get an 8 get an 05, its basically a 9 without the mivec, performance wise. I like the 9 interior, they get the alcantra don't they?
Or, you could pick up an 03 for under 20 and then mod the crap out of it lol.

 

IX with SE package. Aluminum roof from the MR, stronger 5 speed tranny. I dont know why anyone would say the VIII is the last real 4g63.. obviously it's not, the IX is the latest and greatest 4g63.

 

if u are going to upgrade the turbo then go for the VIII because it is cheaper. But if ur going to keep the stock turbo then get the IX. Look and see which one u could aford to get. Both are great cars keep us updated on which one u get

Depends what he wants to do with the car. I never drag race my MR, just track it once in awhile. The true 4g63 die hard fans would get an 8. The mivec is something new for 06, depends on your budget, good luck. I just got my 05 MR with zero percent interest and took the good deal. Find a good deal then take your time.

 

IX SE for sure, for street... if you're buying a mainly track car obviously get the IX RS...

 

if i were gonna get another evo i would definetly get a ix se, cant beat the upgraded interior, u dont want the 6 speed. good luck with whatever u choose though

 

ive owned a ix se... got totaled.. now got a ix mr... i like the mr better. the gears just feel alot better. glad my old car got totaled now.. it was starting to have problems.. im treatin this one with car now.. still doesnt mean i cant punch it every now and then. but just dont torture it too much.. cause stuff does happen.

 

Get the Ix SSL thats what i got, Speed and Luxury, the Ladies love Leather in a car that can make there pants wet

 

anyone mind posting a link to somewhere that lists every model of evo (MR,RS,etc, etc) and what are the differences... The search function is being EXTREMELY slow for me and I'll never get anything done with how it is for me right now, and the 15 second limiter makes it even worse

So far I have heard of GSR,SSL,MR,RS,regular IX, and others...

 

geta IX GSR or an SE. I have an SE and I love it.
