New + questions

My name is Ryan and I am currently in Cleveland Ohio going to school for motorcycle reair. I heard about this forum from columbusracing.com . I just traded in my 2004 mustang gt in on a 2005 evo. I love it so far but now I have to re-learn everything about another car. Hopefully you guys can help me. Currently it has a Buschurracing turbo back exhaust, forge manual boost controller, forge bov, and buschurracing battery as far as I know. What mods are a good choice next? What do they respond to mostly? How much boost/hp can they handle? How do you launch the car? So far I plan to get a new manifold from slowmotion motorsports, and have them tune it. Let me know it all please. Thanks.

as far as launching goes

put the car in 1st and put the peddel to the flow with the clutch in it should hold a rev at 5Gs then when your ready to go slip out the clutch and your off.

Take the abuse out on the clutch not the Tranny!

listen to his advise your stock clutch won't last long. Learn how to drive the car before you go mad crazy with modding. Do the driver mod you will be way faster.

I dont think the clutch it stock. Its real stiff and it chatters a little bit like a stage II. Unless this is how they are. So slip it on the rev limiter, dont dump it. What about future mods?

i really wouldnt worry about a manifold yet. your better of going with a o2 housing, lower intercooler pipe, 255 fuel pump, and a tune.

Get some cams, head studs and a fuel pump along with a tune and you should be happy for a month or so and then you'll want more power... lol. Your clutch probably won't last too long if you'll be launching it so get yourself an Exedy twin. Oh yeah don't waste your money on the manifold you don't need it.

The Wally is an easy install, follow this http://evomoto.com/tech_info.php?tPa...109efdb2a845c3

Some of the more popular cams for the VIII are HKS and I believe the GSC S1's??? could be wrong

seems to be the favorite starting mods around for an evo..

most people that i see are going with the 272s.. many people swear by hks but i've heard good things about the others aswell.

I didnt realize how easy it is to install the fuel pump. I would probablly choose crower since I use them in my quad. I tried launching it today. My car dont have a rev limiter. I held it around 5k and slipped the clutch. It took off so fast. I like the awd, just need to learn how to drive it.
