Buschur Intake Question
Since this is a Buschur based thread I am not sure if I should post this. Someone asked about a CAI for the Evo. Not many know there are a few out there.

I don't want to step on any toes. If you Buschur guys aren't happy that I posted a competitors link, PM me and I'll remove it. Note: I run a Buschur intake because for the price & quality it cant be beat.

Uh, I glanced at the thread.......................I sure do like Keith, alot, and not in a gay way but some of what is in there is not correct.
First, the vent on the valve cover goes directly to the top end of the cylinder head NOT the crankcase. The PCV valve is also directly into the cylinder head and NOT the crankcase. Anyone in doubt, just take the valve cover off and look under it.
The PCV valve is a one way check valve, it has to be as the boost in the intake would go into the head/engine without it. Under vacuum it is sucking crankcase pressure AND OIL out of the valve cover. The vent on the other end that was originally going to the turbo inlet tube is always "sucked" on as the turbo is always pulling in air, which pulls through that vent line too. This line also contaminates the intake charge with oil. This one also fills the intercooler and i/c plumbing with oil.
There is ONE correctly designed catch can on the market that I have seen. It is from Crawford for the Subaru's. It has two feeds for the engine vents, one large hose on top back to the turbo inlet BUT has a large hose on the bottom that drains all the oil BACK into the engine. On the Subaru it is fairly easy to do this. On and EVO it is nearly impossible. So the best bet is to either let the hoses just run on the ground or use a catch can that both hoses just go into and you drain when it gets full. That's how our Time Attack car is set up.
You do NOT want the oil/crankcase contamination going back into the intake stream, common sense I think.

I can't even tell anymore if you are serious Jarrod H.! haha If you are serious, thank you, if you aren't next time you pull the valve cover take a look at how it is designed. It is baffled to try and keep most of the oild out of the PCV/vent but obviously it doesn't work, if it did no oil would come out of the vent line. The OEM's can't let that oil dump on the ground obviously.
I am going to go read the thread Keith started, he's a smart guy and I only read the very beginning. Maybe I missed something.
