Boost Gauge off -5psi

I have had a Prosport electrical boost gauge w/ peak sitting in my closet for a couple months now. My car has been completey stock (bought it in feubary) and had all maintence done by mistu up to now. I installed the gauge, and double checked all the connections and vaccums with a friend who is experienced with these.

Started it up, everything going good, got on it, peak boost was at 16psi. And I know it comes from factory @ 20.3 Its a consistent 16 tappers ~13. No leak, good strong pulls. At first I thought it was my gauge, but its new out of box, and I guess maybe my car could really be running at 15psi or some ****, but I wont know till tomorrow till i take it to a friends shop and check with a different gauge. But if it really is at 15psi, I would be safe to go ahead as planned and kick it up to 20 since thats factory right?

wait until you get it checked first. And if your car is stock, you wont be able to turn up the boost without a boost controller (or if you use the ECU and get it flashed)

yea its getting looked over tomorrow, I have a hallmans mbc with me, just not put on the car, we were going to put it on tomorrow as well, but we saw the psi acting funny and that was apart of my next question, if the car is actually running at 15, i should be safe to put it up to 20 since thats factory?

crank that ish up...if you get to high of boost, you should throw a CEL for overboost.

i had the boost gauge wired with the solenoid, and then i replaced it so it bypasses the solenoid and it was still 16. THanks though for the replies. Im just gonna up it 2 psi at a time and see if it holds well. and stop at 20. btw i live in vegas, lack of altitude
