AEM True boost install?
AEM True boost install?
So i put in the boost controler and i have it all hooked up but i have one question.
Where does the stock selonoid go? is it still part of the loop? and if not do i need to disconect it from the electronics on the car?
What do i do with it?
i was thinking that it might have to be used with the AEM one T bolted to the line going to the Waste gate?
any help?
Thanks

The stock solenoid does not to be anywhere in the loop of the AEM solenoid. I'm unsure if disconnecting will throw a CEL. Unless someone else chimes in, just leave it connected, loop the lines, and zip tie it out of the way.
so i took it out of the loop and im having a wierd problem.
boost is going up to 12 PSI holding there untill around 6RPM then it shoots to 21 PSI at redline?
This is wierd!
i have the Controler set at 18 PSI has any one had this problem?

2. The number on the boost controller is not the psi you want, it is a ratio of min boost and max boost so keep that in mind.
3. Check the setting that keeps the wastegate closed to a certain point.
a min and max ratio? im not sure how to set that?
I thought that if i set the controler at 18PSI it would hold 18PSI
if you could explane how to set it that would be awesome or show me a link.

The number you are seeing on the A or B setting does not correspond directly to PSI. It is a ratio with 10 being the lowest pressure possible on the setup and 90 being the highest. My brother has this gauge and his is set around 35 I think which comes out to about 22 psi. Start low, make a pull, and keep going up a little at a time until you hit your preferred boost.

I just took my Car out to drive a little. I ajusted the A and B like i was told. i had to set it at 45 which ended up to run around 19PSI. So GREAT right? no not so much although it shoots to 19 PSI and holds it once i reach 5800RPM it starts to climb and reaches 22PSI which results in a nice LOUD POP! Sweet i hate fuel cut out. anyways this is starting to stress me out and i know that its not good on the car. soo i set PSI to around 17 and it holds untill 5800RPM then it starts to build more boost! why would this be? ive tryd to mess with the Wastegate spring setting. i set it at 1, 2, 5, 7.5, 10. Nothing seems to help. anyone know what to do?
Thanks for the help with setting PSI that was a big help! i just hope i can figure this out now.

You might want to do a search for that o2 housing and see if people are having boost creep issues with it.
It sounds as though you are experiencing boost creep, in other words the wastegate can't bleed off enough exhaust gases to keep the turbo at the set level in the higher RPM band.

well it started happening not after the 02 housing but after i took off the high flow cat, and put in a straight pipe.
now there has to be a way to fix the problem because i know people run this 02housing with 3inch TBE and straight pipe. Do i need a different waste gate Actuator? or posibly a different hotside? Idk its a bummer that its happening!

i didnt have this problem with the stock seloinoied i was over boosting for sure but it wasnt creeping. it would shoot to 1.6bars and then hold 1.5 to redline. now around 6600RPM the pop would happen because of fuel cut out because if the high engine speed and high boost. i thought that a Wally 255 would fix it but no luck. So i got a boost controler and now the creep is my problem.
