Car loan interest

I'm about to get a IX soon. I got a used car rate of 3.5% for up to 36 months or 5% up to 72 months through Navy Federal CU. Anyone know of better rates through an internet bank/loan company? 3.5-5% seems really good to me. Just wanted to know if there are better rates.

Hope to have my IX by the end of the week.

Go to USAA...Say that Navy Fed gave you X rate, and they'll beat it

I'm not in the military. I got a Navy Fed account through a family member in the Army.

You aren't going to do better than that on a used car. Most banks offer 6.75 right now on used. The online crap will rape you. NEVER EVER use something like Lending Tree unless you have horrible credit and are desperate. I've tried them twice, and each time it lowered my credit report by 25 points or more because of all the idiots running credit checks. They are supposed to use the one from lending tree, but they all run their own which negatively effects your rating.

Then the rates they give you are pretty screwy.

Basically use the bank, or see what the stealership can get you. Don't do the online crap, they'll screw up your credit rating and screw you on the rates.

CUs rule when it comes to loans like that...sounds great too me! Now, if you haven't done this already check out the insurance on it.

I work at NFCU's headquarters, they really are one of the best places to get a car loan through. I got 3.4% for 60months on my current car. $160/month aint bad at all.

USAA is also great, I've got my car insurance through them, and if their loans are as good as their insurance rates, then I'd bank on them being pretty good too...

5% for 72 is insane. Look no further, you won't beat that deal anywhere.
