All the motors are the same for the same year. Same HP. The 5 sp is stronger if you want to drag race. I was going to get an MR untill I found out I couldnt get the sunroof or leather. SUN SOUND LEATHER package with 5 sp FTW

After trading in the Rx-8 ($29K), the extra $5K was nothing compared to the performance gain and AWD. I got really attached to the MR for some reason after test driving it. I test drove the IX first and the MR right after. Before both of those I test drove an STi. I decided on the MR and I'm very happy. No sunroof, no leather, no fancy stereo, I just prefer the 6 speed and the Bilstein suspension. And the Wheels.

No, it's called the JDM MR DV, because it came on JDM MRs. USDM MRs have none of the things that you or the OP listed.

When comparing the IXs, MR not worth it as much as when you comparing the VIIIs.
stock VIII MR has the same plastic DV as all the other evo VIII.

Just go for an '05 VIII w/ ssl. Best of both worlds(minus the shocks and gauges of course)

And when we say USDM IX MR "suspension", the suspension difference is Bilstein shocks.

MR - Mitsubishi Racing; The Bilstein shocks cost as much as a good coilover set. You'd be buying track wheels if you track/race it anyway, and you'll looking to save weight if it means anything, (scraping the sound deadening off the floor SUCKS) and if you've read the 6-speed carnage thread...

IX RS FTW I don't miss ABS

It's the wickerbill extension, vortex generator, and front air dam.

+1

And addressing both of those listed...

I seem to see an awful lot of Bilstein's in the for sale section....

And the gauges are worthless....

and the VIII SSL seats are the BEST by far...
