My First Topic

hello everyone, my name is Scott, and i've ben a member on here for a lil while now, but i don't think i've ever posted anything so i decided i should start now. i've always loved evos since the 5, and when they came to the states i wanted one really bad. i had a job at a warehouse making a lot of money and went to mitsu to get an evo 9 in tarmac black, but they wouldn't even let me test drive it because i didn't have good enough credit, thank god. im only 19 years old and when i was gonna buy it i was 18, i got fired from that warehouse job 2 weeks after(thats why i say thank god). so anyways, i bought a 2000 mitsu mirage a few months back and have started my conversion to the 5, its a project but it'll be done soon. i just ordered a set of evo rear seats from a member on here, so im pretty happy about that. but alrigt just wanted to introduce myself, hope i can help add to the forum and maybe even get some stuff from it as well. thanks

Welcome, I just joined as well.
They don't let you test drive Evos because people don't want to buy them if they have miles on them. However, if they do let people test drive them then they have to give people discount just because they might have a 100-300 miles on them. Not a benefit to dealers. Good luck with your project and keep it up.

I was 17 when I got my evo, at the dealership with my mom wanting a test drive when the guy told me that they usually dont do that unless we're sure we can make a deal....I laughed. Anyways you will learn a lot here just from reading/searching etc...Welcome.

Yeah most dealers will be a pain when trying to get a test drive. You can usually get a test drive if you they think your serious.

If you were really that in love with the Evo my advice would be to not sink too much money into your Mirage. Save save save and get yourself the real deal in a few years. It will teach you responsibility and give you a goal to strive for. It will be that much sweeter in the end.
