Intakes and Warranty?

Ok...the quesiton is does an RMR intake void the warranty? I got mine from the local dealer and the guys told me that its ok because its an OEM part. Is this true? Because it would really be a ***** to need to take the intake off and put in the stock box again to take it in when i am suppose to for maintnence. So far i have had 2 people from the dealer say intakes are fine. And 1 say he thinks the warrenty for the engine would be void. What is the truth to this? Does anyone know? Can someone please clarfy this verry vegue quesion.

I believe the warranty says that the mod has to be the direct cause of the problem. Since an intake just provides more air, it shouldn't void the warranty, unless the filter popped off and the engine siezed ro something. I hope that helps, but I can't say for sure. My dealership seems cool with me having an intake and hoses. Too bad some of my interior panels rattle now, and the stiffer suspension probably voids that (if it was ever covered in the first place)

With my dealer in Mississauga, Ontario I was told that it wouldn't affect the warranty of the car. The shop the I had my work done to the car was actually recommended by the dealer as they send some of their cars there.

Ok buddy, From what Im told the only way that something can be voided is if the aftermarket part is the direct cause of the problem, such as a if you have water in your motor and u got a CAI.

It won't void your warranty unless it cause the problem or it can be related to the problem. The dealership's can decline warranty work if they feel the aftermarket part had a part in the malfunction.

so I got an injen CAI on and i gotta take my car in for the 1st oil change real soon. I shuoldnt worry about switching it back then. Only if I had a problem with it? I asked the guy and he didnt sound like he knew too much but he said yeah it would void it, an exhaust would too. then he said not the whole warranty, just anything with the intake, like the o2 sensors and stuff. So i should be safe, right?Oh yeah, he also said that my ses WOULD come on eventually, but i havnt heard that happening too much. again i dunno if he was talkin out of his a$$
