Hi I'm about to buy a '03 Evo VII and did a carfax on the car. The carfax states that the following recalls have been issued:

Recall #C0401H FMVSS Certification Label
Recall #C0409Z Lancer/Outlander Replace fan controller

Has anyone had these done? What is involved here/ what needs fixing exactly?

If I call my local Mitsu dealer and book the car in will they fix the recalls for me for free?

I've never dealt with recalls and I'm unsure how they work.

Atlantic Mitsu (In Jacksonville FL) Performed those for free for me.

 

The first one is mitsu just replacing a label due to wrong information on it.

second is a malfunctioning fan controller on some evos.. they can check by looking up your vin

 

What is the fan controller? Is it the heater fan or the radiator fan?

I'm sorry if that's a dumb question.

 

I believe its a relay on the Rad Fan.

 

I stopped by the dealer for parts and they did the label thing while I was there. Now, I have another notice saying they need to replace the label again. Huh?
