Newbie!!

What's up ladies n gents!! Newbie here...

My name is Shirre, but call me reezie, I'm 24 n live out by Portland, Oregon...I have an '05 tarmac black EVO VIII. I've owned it since May of this year and I'm new to the Evo world...

This is what I've done so far:
*40% window tint
*Blitz BOV
*HKS Idle Stabilizer
*HKS turbo timer
*short throw shifter
*smoked lights all around

I want to get her ready for the track come spring, so gimme ideas what mods I should do!

First, dont get mad at my suggestions.

You shouldnt run a BOV on your evo. Here is why...

A DV recirculates the excess air back into the intake tract. A BOV blows off the excess air into the atmosphere, making the swish sound.

On the EVO a BOV is not a good idea. The MAF sensor measures the air coming into the engine at the beginning of the intake tract. A BOV releases some of this measured air out of the intake system, making some of the ECU calculations off.

Next, a turbo timer isnt needed on an EVO,as our turbos are oil and coolant cooled.

For mods you SHOULD do,

TBE (turbo back exhaust)
MBC (manual boost control)
Fuel pump
Tune

With those mods your car will be a lot more fun and reliable.

now see..i didnt know any of that about the BOV. If I did I wouldn't have gotten it. Since I already have it, is there anything that can be done so the ECU can have correct calculations?

The turbo timer i knew i didn't really need...but it's kind of a fun gadget so oh well...

Exhaust and the boost control was next on my list.

I would just sell the BOV and get a stock IX DV.

In that case I would follow the advice of evo_kid. Sounds like a good move for you.
