Talking Help w/ Stage 1 modifications!!!

So, I have been browsin around looking at what people have been doing to there Evo IX's for there first couple of mods and I have been stunned at some of the numbers they are making with such little mods!! I own an 06 GG SE w/ a tad over 6000 miles now on the odometer and I have been driving my Evo for about 4 months now and it is time to upgrade
So far on the list for upgrades is,
-Drop in filter
-TBE
-Ported o2 housing
I am also going to get an MBC, Walboro 255 pump and a tune from SpeedElement. Now, I have seen people make upwards of 330whp with this simple set up with pertty conservative tunes! Question is, are the stock fuel injectors safe at this level? I will be getting a safe and conservative tune seeing as I play on the safer side.
Next question is, I was already contemplating camshafts but it looks like those simple mods will make more than enough power to get use to and enjoy for a while, what do you guys think? Any and all feedback and comments are appreciated! If these are any local car clubs in the 650 area code that would like to PM any info on meets that would be great, looking into meeting some nice car folk! Thanks!!!

Will

I'd skip the cams.

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback! Yea, I had a feeling camshafts was going a little too far ahead for now.
Another quick question, what is the stock intercooler good up to? I am already looking into ETS intercooler kit before camshafts then.

thanks!

Really no need to upgrade the stock fmic unless you are going to upgrade the turbo too.

Its not great its just not worth the 800 or so dollars for very little gain in power at the level of modification your planning.

On a stock turbo no real big need.

You can if you want to maximize the stock turbo.

I upgraded mine cause I am going with a 35r kit in the next year.

Eventually I will be doing it for that same reason. But I am also planning on a built motor for insurance, I don't wanna run 400whp+ on the stock block for very long once I get it to that point.

May I suggest Mellon for your tuning needs? You're on the right track with mods. Keep up the good work!!

I personally prefer the Buschur Stage 1 package. Drag times on pump in sig, not bad for 1000.00 bux I must say.

Wish I knew how easy it was to mod Evo's before i put $15k into my old wrx just to get the power equal to a stage one EVO... shame... just a shame....GL though and just to give you a heads up; the difference between a stock wrx 180-200awhp and my wrx 350AWHP was like a segway and a gixxer1000...if you think your car is fast now wait till you get the MBC and tune...
