Looking at an 03 Evo, but I dont know!!!

Hey all,

Just wanted to know what ya'll think about this Evo.
The only thing is that it has about 60,000 miles on
it which is giving me 2nd thoughts UNLESS it the previous
owners took good care of it.

Its $18,000.
Already got a insurance quote from my insurance.
$230 a month
And i know that maintenance is a little high.
Ive actually seen the car in person. Never drove it

Just want too hear ya'll opinions!!!

Heeeeeeeeere

That's a pretty good price. I'd say go for it if you don't have many other options.

If the car is in good shape then I would do it for sure. That is a pretty good price as well. Just put a $250 ebay exhaust, $100 manual boost controller, drop in filter, and a reflash/tune by one of the tuners on this site and you will have yourself a very fast car! That is what I did.

Got some news.
I got approved for the loan BUT, its only for $12,000
(tried to get $18,000)
I was going to use my eclipse as a trade, the car is in
great condition so hopefully i get a good value for it.

So we'll see what happens!!!

I just bought one wrecked with about the same mileage for 8,000...they had it listed for 22k tho so 18k would be a pretty good deal.

Im going through the same thing.

I am looking at two cars:
1 - stock white evo 2003 with 37,xxx miles asking $20k- nothing bargained yet
2 - this guy https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=310806
58,xxx 18,500 (OBO which means neogotiable) This guy has a slew of nice parts, and I would prolly sell the volks, front end, and exhaust.
We had a debate at work which I should look at.

I have a blank check ready for either so I dunno! eek

IMO is doesn't look too good- but I'm wondering if people would bite on the hood and bumper if I went low enough.
I'm thinking I would sell the volks and get stock wheels and tires, and sell the JIC exhaust for something super quiet.

i think the volks should at least get me 2g's right?

eh, used wheels, unless they're the current "must have" rim, generally sell for a lot less than what you paid for them so dont count on making a lot of money off those unless you know of a definite buyer....although a lot of people make promises then back out when its time to pay up.

how about the front end and exhaust- prolly worth something.
I just want stock- maybe people would just straight up trade.

I wouldn't trade straight up...even taking a loss, aftermarket is worth a lot more than stock.

if nothing else, you can get stock parts for dirt cheap since everyone wants to get rid of them.
