another bov thread

Couldn't find my exact answer soo here it goes.

I have a turbo civic and JUST BOUGHT AN evo8 TODAY!!
anyways im putting my civic back to stock and I have a ton of good turbo goodies (profec b spec2, tial bov, wg, gauges like woah turbo timer...)

i want to use the spec2 for boost control but was wondering about the bov, if I should put it on the evo (since it's free).

I know with maf cars venting to atmosphere messes the cars intake stream, but wondered if things like ecuflash can compensate for that.

what would you do?

how can ecuflash compensate for VTA? ask yourself this question, are you removing the MAF sensor? if not then just recir. why do you want to go vta? That's ricer and not good for your evo. if you really want sound, get an cone filter and it will amplify the sound of dv. another good one to go is APS unit, it vents small amount in to open.
this question has been ask many times, you are just not doing your search through enuf and want to get a quick answer.

i've read the threads most say "why change it when you don't need to?"
the question is would you change it when its FREE?
the car has an intake and spooling and the dv are LOUD. im actually hoping the tial would be quieter than the stock one.

you can't just "try it" cuz the tial uses a vband style flange that needs to be welded.

remove the airbox and get a cone filter, the stock BOV is a lot louder than you think.

Just ebay the tial unit and use the money for other goodies on the evo. Also, your forge dv is loud because your rmr intake filter makes it loud. A stock diverter valve on an rmr (or any cone filter) is super loud as is. Just pick up an evo ix diverter and sell the forge unit as well (unless you plan on boosting into the upper 20's and lower 30's.) Glad to see a new evo owner around the area, though!

I agree with BBS. Stay with the DV and go with any cone setup intake. You will notice the sound.
