comfortable is subjective. the SSL package was designed for people who wanted more than just "an RS w/a radio". yes the interior is similar but there are a couple extra creature comforts that are appealing to a person who wants a DD mainly. look at the EVO X. the MR with the Tech pkg will give new EVO drivers stuff u could only get previously by buying an STI (cruise, navi, 6disc, a decent stereo system).

IMHO, an EVO X might make a better DD than an VIII or IX simply for it's newer available features & the fact that it's safer which from an insurance perspective can determine if the car is affordable or not to most buyers. anybody can buy a car & make a car payment, but can you handle the additional costs associated with everything else???

me personally i would never spend more than $40k on any 4cyl car regardless of what it is.

Would pulling the ebrake and disengaging ACD make the turning radius smaller?

I'd say it has more to do with the steering components. I'm not really sure what that would accomplish.

Like everyone esle said as long as you can deal with a slightly stiff ride then there should be no problem and there is a little more than normal cabin noise too. I DD my IX and have no issues with it.

Mine is a DD and I have put 10000 miles on it in 5 months, including one GA-CO trip straight by myself and the lack of cruise control really is not as big of a deal as I thought it was. In 6th gear, cruising on highway, with tip of foot resting on gas pedal the car will keep a rock solid 80mph! ohh... and I was able to get 25mpg that way

I use my 05 VIII as a daily driver and if you don't care about luxury and you only care about the thrill you get from driving, then this would be the perfect car for you.

The only problems I have with it are the seats can get uncomfortable to sit in after a while since theres barely any cushining in them (I have the black leather Recaros).

The gas millage can get pretty bad if you drive the car fast everywhere you go. When I drive to work or the grocery store, I always go the speed limit and I keep the rpms at around 2K and that saves me a lot of gas. It's just not as fun to drive if you do that.

But thats just my 2 cents. Others will probably have different opinions.

you know we have emissions here, right?

It's my only car as well. Daily driven all year 'round on 10kg/mm coilovers and 293whp. Suits me just fine, and I'm planning for even more "impracticality" to come.

Evo MR is a great daily driver. Rides so much better than a STI. No cruise and basic climate controls but tons nicer for daily driving than the STI.
