Evo=Daily Driver

I need current evo owners to let me know if a 8 or 9 is comfy and reliable enough as a DD.I am thinking of selling my mint Toyota t100 (97) and getting a evo.The T100 has been extremely reliable and runs perfect.Has 88k miles has absolutely no oil leaks and everything works.A big reason that its in excellent shape is because I have been working on Toyota's since 1983.I am tired of the truck and want to sell it so I can have more money to purchase a evo.I sold my sti several months ago and really miss it.The sti was not a DD but this time I can only afford to keep 1 vehicle for myself.The only mods i'm planning are a turboback,flash and a better air intake,obviously I can fix whatever breaks but I would rather not have to rent a car while the evo is down.

The evo is less of a daily drive then an STI , no cruise , No climate , no 6disc , lil "Harsher" ride , Wich a lot of us enjoy. So if you liked the "grunty" feel of the sti , ull get even more in an Evo. It just feels like a beast.

It depends on what you want to do to your EVO. How much HP? Lowering? Exhaust system? I ran my RS for a half year in Ohio. Then park the car because of the salt and snow. It can really take a toll on the underbody of the car.

i DD my evo. its harsh in ride comfort arena, eats gas in stop and go situations if u drive a little spirited, maintenance is pricey cause its not only oil changes; lsd and tranny oil needs changes. that is all i cna think of for now

As far as the 6 disc and cruise etc it does not matter to me just want a reasonably quick car that can grip.My goals on power 280-300 is fine,maybe a inch drop on suspension nothing too radical.I had a greddy evo 2 on the sti and it was'nt loud at all,does this apply to the evo as well as far as how loud it is ?
Thank you and HAPPY HOLIDAYS
