My Evo and Many Questions.

Alright, I just bought an 06 MR with 7 miles on it, and after 2000 or so of casual driving, I have started installing my garage full of evo parts. I have a few questions before I make any more changes to the car, but before the questions, here are some pics, because everyone likes pics.

The hood popped but not open, showing a little of the 3.5" ETS Intercooler.

Heres the 3.5" ETS Intercooler, it looks much nicer than the stock one.

Here is the engine bay with Small battery kit, Cone filter and full ETS piping.

Here is my current low milage, Im curious what the other 06's miles are right now? Please let me know.

Heres the interior, with the Clarion Head and Orbital kit. The stock my gauges are in the glovebox disconnected except for the boost line to keep it plugged for now.

Heres the rear end, with plate-blurred goodness.
And finally heres the Wicked CAS box with JL 10w7 and 500/1v2 amp. Im still building an amp rack.

Okay Heres my questions in this next post....

Alright, So for anyone wondering the Orbital kit install was easy unless you have an MR. There is a MESS of wiring in a piggyback radio connector to power the MR guages. I just disconnected them and tossed the indicators in the glovebox. Now the HVAC relocation was very easy, except I had to cut down 4 screws inside the bracing in the hole as well as trim a pretty good portion of white plastic off the HVAC unit itself. I had to cut the back left most side and make a bracket to hold the control line in a new spot. It was a pain.

Im ordering some defi gauges (so if anyone knows where to get them cheap let me know), and installing them in the rexspeed dash mounted 3x pod.

Also Im building an amp rack to mount the 500/1 at an angle against the back wall behind the woofer. The box is a little too small for that sub, but Im not really into LOUD bass. I do notice some issues with the rear shelf speakers being distorted by the sub in the trunk, Im going to make a little box for those when I install new components.

Here are my questions...

I have the ETS intake pipe. However I never recieved the NPT 3/8 adaptor for the hose to the crank case or whatever. Tom was great about it and even though I ordered the kit a while ago, he is shipping me out a new one. Thanks TOM! ETS rocks! Anyway, The stock pipe also has a hole on the bottom of it that goes to the turbo/wastegate or something I think. What is the proper way to complete this install?? I searched the forum and cant find the answer.

On a side note, once I get the Intake pipe on, and QTP downpipe installed, Ill toss on my boost controller and get a tune. What is a good operating PSI and where can I get a great tune. I am debating mellon right now, hear good things from him.

Thanks everyone, and if anyones in JAX give me a shout.

Oh also, does the stock head unit wiring diagram for DIM work like I think it works? Should it dim my screen when the lights come on? I dont think it works or I just dont know how to operate my unit. Any insight would be great!

So any idea on what to do with those hoses under the stock intake pipe when I install the ETS SRI intake pipe? It only has 1 port and the stock has 2??? I know the MBC (or EBC) fill these ports eventually, but what about for now??

okay

Refer to the lower diagram.

The brown circles are ports/nipples/barbs whatever.
The yellow lines are hose.

Im pretty sure this is how the stock is, can someone fill in the blanks on the ETS one.
The ETS intake pipe has 1 less port. Im going to toss in a MBC/EBC so if that fits in that would be great!!!

yeah the hoses that connect the intake pipe to the stock boost solenoid goes bye.......just cap it off at the solenoid and get rid of the hose...........the MBC only connect to the turbo and wastegate. whereas the stock one connect to the intake turbo and wastegate.........

So can I install the SR intake pipe while waiting for my EBC to arrive? And how should I go about pipe routing if it is at all possible?

You can get little plastic plugs from any hardware store to cover up the holes
