Forced Performance, a turbo shop in Texas can and does reconfigure the stock 16G into several variants. They have designed a larger diameter compressor wheel which works best in the IX compressor housing. Also, they do a larger, low backpressure turbine wheel inside either a 9.0cm, 9.8 cm, or 10.5 cm turbine housing.

Their signature stock apperaing, bolton turbo for the Evo is known as the "EvoGreen". They start with stock 16G IX turbocharger's compressor housing, turbine housing and center housing. Then they cut the compressor and turbine housings internally to clear the larger wheels.The end result is a stock appearing turbo that flows just about the same amount of air as a Garrett 3071 turbo.
